Octoray and The Beijing Studio
I founded OcToRay in 2015 to find clearer directions for future creative and advocacy endeavours as a filmmaker and a community builder. For 3 years, this non-profit art and community space hosted various productions, rehearsals, international artist residencies, community events, film screenings and exhibitions.
In the darkroom
Photo paper is a canvas that I paint with light; and the film stock, the color palette.
About rhymingleaf
(Aka) leaf is a filmmaker, visual artist and a media literacy advocate. Her films, installations and analog photography work has been exhibited in the U.S., China, UK, Italy and Hong Kong. In 2015, she founded the Beijing Studio of OcToRay, a non-profit art and community studio that provided free event and working spaces for artists and community builders.
After relocated to Germany in 2019, she is currently setting up a media literacy film grant and an artist residency.
