A Note on Photography

I grew up in colonial Hong Kong and I thought I would become a social worker until I picked up the camera. I do primarily analog photography and I make my own prints in both colour and B&W. Because I produce films and videos for a living, I tend to leave the abstract to photography. I often treat the photo paper as a canvas where I paint with light; and the film stock, the color palette. The act of painting with light feels most authentic when I photograph at night using long exposure.
